Malaysian Censorship in Books

Ogilvy, a huge advertisment company spread around all over the world. In Malaysia they are doing the advertisments for Nokia, Guiness and many more. In the MPH bookshop in Midvalley Malaysia I came accross one of the Ogilvy books. I flipped through and some pictures jumped into my eyes.
The pictures where some of the Fa commercials which where shown in Europe. (Fa is a shower gel) I rembered that in those commercial always the naked breasts of a women was shown. So was on those pictures in the book. But there was some blue color on it. Somebody took a blue felt pen and draw over all the pictures where the breast would have ben visible. I checked some of the other books as well. In all the Ogilvy books the same thing was the case.

In the two pictures in this page of the book clearly can be seen the blue felt pen is "censoring" the breasts of the women in the advertisment.

cuti cuti Malaysia! A drain in Penang. Drains are a major problem in Malaysia. Heavy rains flud the streets within a few minutes and the drains suppose to be the path for the water to go. But drains are too often used as a garbage bean where plastic bags shoes and other stuff lands in. The drain is not able anymore to get the water fast enough out.

I for myself just started with the last website (www.publictoilet.info)to touch XHTML. If the site is validated, it still shoes a lot of errors (mostly depriciated tags). Once I have time I'll change it.

Daylight

Another day of Doom 3.
Finally i can see some daylight. This lasted for around 10 seconds. After that again in the darkness of doom. It the 6th day I play. Finally I am a bit used to the shocks the game developers prepare for me. In other words, I know more when they are coming in advance as there is a bit a pattern.

This is an actual screen shot of doom 3. You can't see much? Yes thats what I try to show you. You can not see much even with flash light. Without it is more or less black besides some luminated buttons or diodes of computers or health packs and similar. After another 3 or 4 hours playing the map design does not change much. I am afraid it will be boring after a while. Dark Always Dark. In the level just played, communications tranfer had some kind of a train u can command. pretty interactive. Already before in an earlier level I had to get rid of some waste with a remote controlled crane. Was fun. Some change from shooting monsters in the dark.

I play doom on a AMD 1.7 xp 384 Mb ram, ATI 9200 card at 800 x 600 on low quality. It "just" runs and is playable enough. If 2 or more monsters are attacking, it is difficult to aim since the frame rate drops a lot and it stacks alot. Better to have more ram and faster CPU. Check the site.

Doom 3 continued

After another 2 hours playng DOOM 3 my oppinion has not changed. I am now in Alpha Lab 4 and DOOM does not stop surprising me how it can scare me. At on time you look into another room with your flash lite and suddenly the colors change, the sound changes, the angle of view changes and you get chicken skin and a cold shower on your back. It is TERRIBLE. This game is not for people with a weak heart!!

After a few steps you don't want to go around the next corner anymore, because you know that something terrible is waiting there for you. Or maybe around the corner is nothing? It is dark.. most of the time and you can either see or shoot but not really both at the same time! 

Doom 3 the game that scares the SHIT out of you

Doom 3 the scariest shit around right now. I have never played a game that really gets to me. Doom 3 does! It gives a permanent feeling in my stomach that gets uncomfortable after a while. If you play in your dark room alone and you don't feel like anytime something is jumping on your back, you are tougher than a horse shoe!
